2 de abril, Dia Mundial da Conscientização do Autismo: pesquisa revela que 86,4% dos entrevistados nunca receberam treinamentos sobre neurodiversidade no ambiente de trabalho
Pesquisa divulgada em 2024 aponta, ainda, que 48% admitem terem um conhecimento limitado sobre neurodiversidade
A pesquisa “Neurodiversidade no Mercado de Trabalho”, realizada pela Consultoria Maya, em parceria com a Koru, e apoio da startup Tismoo܂me e do Órbi Conecta, apontou a falta de conhecimento circulante acerca da neurodiversidade. O estudo, feito no início de 2024, a partir de uma base de 12 mil estudantes e profissionais ligados à Koru, teve como objetivo entender o cenário, difundir informações para a população e assim reduzir a discriminação e o preconceito que cercam as pessoas com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA).
Do total dos entrevistados, 75% estão familiarizados com o termo “neurodiversidade”, o que inclui TEA e outras condições, sendo 48,6% com conhecimento limitado. Outros 25% nunca haviam tido contato com a expressão. O levantamento revelou que 86,4% nunca participaram de treinamentos ou programas relacionados ao tema no ambiente corporativo.

“Pessoas neurodivergentes podem ter Transtorno de Espectro do Autismo [TEA], Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção com Hiperatividade [TDAH], Dislexia, Síndrome de Tourette, entre outras condições, e nenhuma delas as impede de exercer atividades profissionais. Precisamos desmistificar esses termos e normalizar a presença de pessoas atípicas no ambiente de trabalho”, comenta Francisco Paiva Jr., cofundador e CEO da Tismoo܂me, startup de tecnologia em saúde, comprometida em melhorar a qualidade de vida de pessoas autistas e com outras neurodivergências.
O TEA está presente em uma parcela significativa da população mundial e merece a nossa atenção neste 2 de abril e também em todos os outros dias do ano. “O autismo é uma condição muitas vezes invisível. Por meio dessa ação, queremos disseminar informações que despertem a consciência para o fato de que certas características que encontramos em algumas pessoas surgem em razão de uma questão neurológica atípica que não as tornam piores que ninguém e que devem ser acolhidas. Precisamos falar mais sobre neurodiversidade em nossas rotinas”, afirma Paola Carvalho, diretora criativa da Consultoria Maya, mãe de um menino autista. Sempre sensível às dimensões da diversidade, a consultoria Maya conta com uma frente de trabalho que apoia empresas, projetos e marcas na amplificação de causas ambientais e sociais; a neurodiversidade é uma delas.
A pesquisa mostrou que, no ambiente de trabalho, quase a metade dos entrevistados nunca trabalhou diretamente com pessoas neurodivergentes, 21,4% tiveram experiências desafiadoras e apenas 30% considerou ter experiências positivas.
Vale destacar ainda que 40% dos entrevistados acreditam que a criação de programas de sensibilização e treinamentos para colaboradores seria a melhor estratégia para promover a inclusão de pessoas neurodivergentes no local de trabalho. Outras soluções seriam: oferecer ajustes razoáveis como ambientes de trabalho flexíveis e tecnologias assistivas (29,3%), estabelecer programas de mentoria ou apoio para colaboradores neurodivergentes (16,4%) e a criação de um comitê de neurodiversidade (7,1%).
A maioria dos entrevistados apontou que a neurodiversidade traz benefícios para o ambiente de trabalho, como promover um espaço com mais criatividade e inovação, fortalecer a cultura de equipe, fomentar um ambiente de aprendizado, aumentar a satisfação e o engajamento dos colaboradores.

O levantamento também identificou que a falta de compreensão de colegas e da liderança foi apontada como um dos principais desafios enfrentados por neurotípicos no ambiente de trabalho (62,9%). Do total, 55% acreditam que é possível combater os estigmas e preconceitos por meio de programas de conscientização e educação e outros 42,9% por meio de política de inclusão e suporte.
Pesquisas internacionais – Com o avanço dos estudos científicos, nos últimos anos, o diagnóstico de autismo em adultos vem crescendo gradativamente. Quando se trata do autismo na fase adulta, informações divulgadas pelo Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), em 2020, revelam que a incidência dessa condição, a nível global, é de cerca de 2,2% da população. Muitos comportamentos socialmente incompreendidos estão sendo desvelados nesse processo, gerando empatia, compreensão e soluções assertivas. A partir desse índice, estima-se que, no Brasil, existam cerca de 6 milhões de autistas. O país carece de dados oficiais atualizados.
Já um levantamento da Play Pesquisa e Conhecimento, realizado com 1,4 mil famílias de crianças neurodivergentes (com TEA e/ou TDAH), aponta que para cerca de 60% das famílias, a capacitação dos colaboradores sobre como lidar com a neurodiversidade pode ajudar na inclusão, e metade considera que as empresas devem oferecer ferramentas que eduquem sobre as diferenças e como lidar com elas.
Outra pesquisa, dessa vez da McKinsey & Company, aponta que empresas com quadros diversos de colaboradores são capazes de lucrar até 33% mais do que seus pares menos preocupados com esse aspecto em suas operações.
